State of the Action: Hayleigh Palotti was venturing into uncharted territory.  Steadily improving all season, she had put her name in the conversation for a State Title.  But she wasn't the favorite, as Brianna O'Brien had been running extremely well all season.  The two separated early, making it a head-to-head race for the title.  That's where Palotti's experience came into play.  She had won the Pre-State Invite on this  very course, and knew where to throw in a surge.  She repeated that action Saturday, pulling away at the same spot as in September, and grabbing her first ever State Title.
