State of the Action: Lake Placid were the reigning State Champs, and were looking to be rounding into form. But the Maple Grove boys didn't want to experience a State Title from the sidelines. They wanted to be the ones up on the podium. They had been there when their girls team had taken home four titles since 2010, but a Maple Grove boys team had never won as either a team nor individual. That all changed Saturday, as they battled the extremely impressive compression of Lake Placid. The meet came down to just three points, the closest race of the day. But that's all it took to win a State Title.
