Team Winners of the '04 Chenango Valley State Meet Poised to Defend Titles

Somers Guys Tusk for Title in Class B (2004 Class B Winner)

None of the three guys shown here from the last Chenango Valley States including winner Dan Busby (no. 980) will be back to run on Saturday, but Greg and Matt Fusco will be leading the Somers charge.

The Skinny:   The Tuskers won at Chenango Valley as part of a four-year run of Section 1 teams capturing Class B titles, as Horace Greeley triumphed in 2002, Tappan Zee took the 2003 crown, and then Pearl River would be the champs in 2005 after Somers won at Chenango Valley. No Section 1 B boys teams have won at States since, and only the Pawling guys have won a crown in any class with a win in 2012 in Class C. No pressure on you Tusker guys, but you know that certain Section 1 diehards are really really really counting on you in that upcoming battle with three sets of Spartans and Vikings and Blue Devils and Dragons and Panthers and Huskies and two bands of Indians. No pressure there at all.
