Following Week of Saturday, October 22
The sixth week of the NY rankings was a quiet time for most of the state, and even those teams that were running like top-ranked Corning were often entering JV or partial squads at meets or doing relaxed runs far below their usual levels.Teams that did do some screaming and yelling included Guilderland with a breakout race at Albany County, Fairport with a big win at Marathon and Owego and Maine-Endwell in the next two spots in the race, Marcellus in the OHSL Liberty championship, a pack of AIS teams at Collegiate including Trinity, Collegiate, and Poly Prep, and Elmira-Notre Dame in the smaller Marathon race along with a triumphant Sauquoit Valley in the CSC meet.
We now move more fully into the county and city boro meets over the coming week, and we'll be seeing a lot of great action at meets such as the Monore, Rockland and STAC county meets and the Suburban Council during the next week and a half.
Cheers to all as we creep ever closer to that scary time of year when the tickets to States and Federations will be punched..
