All Race Videos

Last Saturday, the 65th running of the Baldwinsville Invitational took place, and even though it was the same day as the McDaniel-Baxter Pre-State meet, there was still huge amounts of competition. We saw many runners break onto the meet's all-time list with fast times. This meet came down to many close races, that across the 7 JV and Varsity races, the team wins were decided by 53 points total.

The first big girls' race we saw was the Small School Varsity race, which saw Julia Willcox of Skaneateles a victory over her field in 18:56. Julia took a lead during the start of her race, and kept expanding the gap between first a second over the duration of the 2.95 miles. The team win came down to a 5 point difference with VVS getting the win over Port Byron with 101 points.

The Boys' Varsity race in the Small School Division was won by junior Gabe Stash of Marcus Whitman just under the 16 minute barrier with 15:59. With the Individual win, Gabe led his team to a close 99-102 point victory over runners up Hannibal. Hannibal's top runner was sophomore Patrick Hall in 14th with a time of 16:53.

The Small School JV race was the first race on the boy's side of competition, and it was won by Daniel Jorolemon from Jordan-Elbridge in 18:52. The team win went to Chenango Forks with a score of 46 points; Nick Rowe being the top scorer for that team coming in 3rd. Jorolemon's Jordan-Elbridge team was second to the Chenango Forks team with 57 points; the second largest margin of win of the day.

The Girls' JV race was decided by another 5 point margin, with the Baldwinsville girls pulling off another victory over their field. The Fairport Girls took second with 55 points to Baldwinsville's 50. Individually, Elizabeth Baker, a freshman out of West Genesee, won the race over second place Emily Dembowski, out of CNS, by a 12 second gap. 3rd place Patricia Conlan was Balldwinsville's top runner in the field.

The Girls' Large School Varsity race saw a close individual first place finish between Justus Holden-Betts and Sammy Watson. Justus pulled off the win in 17:51 followed by Sammy in 17:55 as they both lead the top pack of runners for the majority of the race. Holden-Betts lead her Baldwinsville team to a 5 point victory over West Genesee with 71 points to their 76.

The Large School Boys' JV race was won by 3 points. It was a very close finish between the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake team and the number one ranked JV team Baldwinsville, but in the end, Baldwinsville came out on top beating the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake team 30-33. The individual win went to John Kresovich of Baldwinsville in 16:27; Michael Messere was Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's top finisher in 3rd place.

The Boys' Large School Varsity race had a winning margin of 21 points, by far the largest of the day, and like the JV race prior to it, it came down to Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake and Baldwinsville. This time the Burnt Hill-Ballston Lake team came out on top with break out performances across the board. Tyler Berg and Evan Brennan led the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake team to their win, both with a time of 15:20.5 placing 3rd and 4th respectively. The Baldwinsville team was led by senior Cameron Morrissey in 8th with a time of 15:36.
