The Mount Greylock modified teams took huge wins on both the boys and girls side of the competition and could quite possibly make themselves into a strong team in the years to come.

The Shaker boys' team won the freshman race over Saratoga by 6 points. Saratoga's Brady Tooker won the race in 9:28.6 keeping that Tooker tradition of winning alive in Section 2.

The Niskayuna girls' team won their freshman race over runners up Bethlehem by 30 points, 31-61. The individual champ was Sophia Hurry of Niskayuna with a time of 11:11.

On the girls' side of the competition, the Champlain Valley team took wins in both the JV and Division 1 Varsity races with Sophia Gorman taking the individual win in the varsity race. The JV girls swept their race showing their dominance in the field as well. With winning this race, the CVU JV girls and Sophia Gorman took back to back wins in New York coming off of last weekend's victory at the Springstead Invitational.

Tyler Marshall of Champlain was the victor in the boys Division 1 varsity race while a very strong Saratoga team took the team title with 67 points. The Saratoga team was led by Shea Wielbaker and Declan Hines in 3rd and 4th. Ethan Carey of Queensbury also ran well to place second being just over a second off of Tyler Marshall's 15:55 first place finish.

The Saratoga boys won their JV race over Bethlehem, 35-45, with front runner Anthony Verro winning the race with a time of 17:34.

The Division 2 girls' race was won by Monica Strain who was nearly a minute faster than the rest of her competition with a time of 18:57. The New York Mills girls won the team championship by 14 points over Emma Willard.

The Division 2 race was won by Ryan Gallagher in 16:05, over 40 seconds ahead of second place. Haldane's team won the race over Voorheesville, 120-124, with Haldane's Nicholas Farrell and Adam Silhavy going 4, 5 in the race over all.

Given these fast times at this point in the season, we should continue to see these top teams and athletes out front with their competitors.
