USTFCCCA Announces New York State Coaches Of The Year

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Assoiciation has released their picks for the NY State Coaches of the year.  The award is for the combined seasons of Indoor and Outdoor Track.   Earlier in the year, Bill Aris (Fayetteville-Manlius) and Tracey Vanatta (Liverpool) received the awards in New York State for the season of Cross Country.

On the boys side, the honor goes to Ron Wilson of Huntington High School.  We named the Huntington 4x400m State Records as our #3 Moment of the 2016 season.  The Quarter broke the then-oldest State Record on the books in the Spring of 2016, as well as capturing State and National individual titles in the 400m hurdles.

For the girls, the award would go to Mike DeMay of Rush-Henrietta High School.  We named Sammy Watson's record breaking season as our #2 Moment of the 2016 Season, while also listing the achievements of Lanae-Tava Thomas in the sprints as an Honorable Mention.  Rush-Henrietta was the only program to have two separate members make the list
