Tindale running the 800m at the Eddy Games (above)
The records keep on falling for the freshman from Guilderland. Ten days after taking down the 1600m record at the Suburban Champs, Noah Tindale comes back to grab the 800m freshman state record. Riding off Aidan Tooker for a majority of the race, Tindale used the quick pace to pull him across the line, under the record. The prior record was set in 2010 by Cory McCarty of Elmira, who went on to win a State Title his senior year in the Indoor 1000m
With this new record achieved, we have seen almost all distance records rewritten this spring. Between Tindale and fellow freshman Sam Affolder, records in the 800m, 1600m, Mile, and 3000m Steeple have been broken. All that remains is the freshman 3200m record, set at 9:20.10 by Kevin Tschirhart of Northport. Currently, Affolder has the superior personal best in the event at 9:52, but both are capable of stronger.
