Meet New Texas Webmaster Bryan Deibel!

It's been a crazy year since taking ver as the Texas Webmaster in January. It was a mind blowing experience to go through the Texas track season for the first time! I was fired up for XC, but as some may have noticed, I've been transitioning out of the webmaster role this season. I'm moving to a new position as the Content Marketing Coordinator for the MileSplit network, as well as taking over the stats articles for the MileSplit US site.

It's bittersweet because I'm excited about the new opportunity, but I've met so many incredible athletes, coaches, and parents in the past 10 months, that it's difficult to leave. The silver lining is that I'll still be based in Austin, so they couldn't keep we away from the big TX meets if they tried!

I felt comfortable leaving the Texas role because I knew it would be in good hands. Bryan Deibel joined MileSplit at the end of the track season as part of the National team and is now taking over as Texas Webmaster. He's already been doing a killer job covering the cross country season! There are a lot of big things in store for Texas running. It's a high priority not just for TX MileSplit, but in the larger MileSplit Network and FloSports. The vision is for Texas MileSplit to take the sports we love to heights we've never seen at the high school level!

An introduction for Bryan is long overdue, but better late than never.

My name is Bryan Deibel, as you've probably already seen, I'm the new Texas MileSplit Webmaster! I'm super excited to continue the awesome coverage Travis has started with the site, and making it the number one go to place for cross country and track and field in Texas!

So a little about myself...I ran cross country in high school and college. I started out playing soccer in high school but after I was cut junior I made the switch to cross country. I loved it right away! I didn't run anything too crazy my first year as I was still getting used to the sport, but my senior year I was 10th in class B for the state of New York. In college I ran for Division II Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. I've competed at the Division II national level three times, earning All-American (Top 40) my junior year placing 19th. Majoring in broadcast journalism, I'm glad I can cover the sport that I love after spending a year in the news business working for a TV station.

This is my first time in the great state of Texas after moving here this past spring. I'm excited to dig in and get to know the Texas running scene. If you have any suggestions, things you need fixed on the site, or would like to help with coverage of the sport please feel free to shoot me an email bryan.deibel@flosports.tv.

I'll see you out there on the course,

-Bryan
