The Manhattan Invitational Arrives

 

No meet is bigger this weekend than the Manhattan Invitational in New York.  Teams from all along the eastern seaboard come together this glorious weekend to race in the most historic of cross country meets.  The Girls Eastern States Preview highlights the best field assembled all year outside Nike Team Nationals, with a combined 22 national ranked or state ranked squads, and a slew of top individual talent.  Check out the happenings of this weekend's competition.

The Manhattan Invitational is one of the most storied, if not the most storied, cross country races in the nation.  Every year, the top teams in the Northeast and along the eastern half of the United States, come together to match up.  The MileSplit Network brings you the best coverage of the Manhattan Invitational found anywhere.  We will highlight the race with in-depth race stories, videos and pictures.  What a weekend it will be!

Very seldom to more than a couple top ranked squads meet at an invitational.  Well, this race has no less than 22 nationally or state ranked teams.  Along with that, five Foot Locker finalists battle up front, with another dozen or so that have a chance to crack the top five individually.

Manhattan Boys Races

 

While all the top girls teams filter into the Eastern States Preview, most of the top boys teams are spread out through a variety of seven seperate races.  US ranked Danbury, CT, Germantown Friends, PA, Oakton, VA, North Penn, PA, Midlothian, VA and Warwick Valley, NY are the top teams.  Individually, Matt Terry (Sr., Danbury), Willie Ahearn (Sr., Danbury), Max Kalbauch (Sr., Germantown Friends) and Chris Aldrich (Sr., Henderson, PA) are the top individuals this weekend.
